Shorty's Mexican Roadhouse's new ownership is committed to fresh menus and fresh decor, and needed their brand to match. The new logo depicts Hector, Shorty's father—adventurer, traveler, and foodie—who originally conceived of opening a mexican restaurant, but who inexplicably took his motorcycle on a road trip to California and was never heard from again. The identity uses bright colors paired with an eclectic typography system with seemingly endless variation. This adds a level of whimsy to the overall feel, but also the flexibility to dress things up or down. The bold scripts on white give it a clean vibrance that is lacking in this space.

The Shorty's kids menu keeps things playful with temporary tattoos and a Hector's mustache kids can 'wear'.

Shorty's is known for being 'Always Fresh. Always Fun,' and a trusting client allowed us to get a little out there with promotions and social media. Messaging and tone reflect the restaurant experience of a fresh meal in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
